Residential Construction Industry Training Organization (RCITO)

RCITO is the Industry Training Organization (ITO) for the residential construction industry in British Columbia. We develop recognized apprenticeship programs that provide unique skills, career paths and qualified workers for the residential construction industry, and to improve and standardize residential construction industry skills.

Our top priority is to respond to labour market needs. To do this, we work with residential construction employers to identify current and future skills needs, and address skills shortages. Our broader mandate is to define overall industry training needs, set training and occupational standards, market programs, measure training results, and facilitate program delivery.

We rely on employers in many ways, including helping us identity skills gaps, and develop and evaluate programs. We also rely on employers to help apprentices get started in their trades-career by hiring them and sponsoring them. Our goal is always to increase the professionalism of residential construction trades and help foster a strong and sustainable industry.
