Residential Interior Finishing Technician

The ITA has notified RCITO that approval of the long-awaited Residential Interior Finishing Technician, Residential Exterior Finishing Technician and Residential Formwork Technician programs is imminent, and that all three programs will soon be available to apprentices and challengers.

These three trades, when added to the existing Residential Framing Technician program, make up the Residential Carpentry Career Path that the home building and renovation industry first proposed to the ITA in 2005.

RCITO completed development of the program standards in March 2011 and is now developing the learning resources for the three trades, with funding provided by the Labour Market Partnerships Program of the BC government.
